Four Harry Potter books in new Sotheby’s auction

May 27, 2015.

The Library of an English Bibliophile, Part IV is the upcoming auction held by Sotheby’s, next June 4th, at 10:30 London Time. Alongside a signed first edition of The Hobbit and a first edition of The Wind in the Willows, there are four lots with books written by our favourite author J.K. Rowling. The first one, #139, is a first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Bloomsbury, 1997), with all the corrects issue points. #140 and #141 are the first edition of The Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban by Bloomsbury respectively (Prisoner of Azkaban is also the first state of the first printing). The last lot is the first american edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, published by Scholastic in the United States in 1998.

Let us know if you are planning to bid in one of these lots – or maybe another lot from the same auction!
