The Royal Mint releases new Harry Potter Commemorative coin: The Winged Keys

The Royal Mint has released a new commemorative coin titled “The Winged Keys” as part of their ongoing Harry Potter series. The latest coin depicts an iconic scene from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone where Harry catches a winged key while riding a broomstick, helping overcome one of the challenges protecting the Sorcerer’s Stone during his first year at Hogwarts. The original illustration was created by Mary GrandPré, the acclaimed artist who illustrated the U.S. cover art for the Harry Potter book series.

“This memorable moment perfectly captures the magic of the Harry Potter story and the theme of enduring friendship,” stated the press release. The reverse design features Charles III, King of the United Kingdom.

Collectors can choose from five different versions of “The Winged Keys” coin:

The new coins are licensed by Warner Bros. Consumer Products and are available now, joining previous Harry Potter releases on The Royal Mint’s website and through their customer service team.
