Bloomsbury, the publishers of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, has announced that the global celebration of the beloved stories will return in 2023 with a new name: Harry Potter Book Day. The event, previously known as Harry Potter Book Night, has been rebranded to allow fans of all ages to participate in the annual celebration, whether they prefer to celebrate in the morning or at night.

The date for the event has also been changed to October 12th, 2023. This date was chosen after extensive consultation with Harry Potter fans around the world in an effort to find a date that would work for as many countries as possible. Fans now have plenty of time to start planning for the event.

Harry Potter Book Day is an opportunity for fans worldwide to come together and celebrate J.K. Rowling’s iconic series with events, parties, and other festivities. Each year, Bloomsbury releases a downloadable event kit filled with ideas and activities that can be used to hold events at bookshops, schools, libraries, or even in the comfort of one’s own home with family and friends. The kit contains everything that is needed to plan an event, whether it is big or small.

To get involved in Harry Potter Book Day, fans can sign up to register for the downloadable event kit on the Bloomsbury website. The publisher also has already released an animated trailer featuring an all-new illustration of platform nine and three-quarters, brought to life by artist Jonny Duddle.

It is worth noting that the new date for Harry Potter Book Day, October 12th, 2023, could potentially coincide with the Wizarding World Festival. However, this is just a possibility and has not been confirmed by the organizers of the festival. If you want to know more about what could the Wizarding World Festival be, read the January 2023 issue of The Rowling Library Magazine.

The new date and name for Harry Potter Book Day promises to be an exciting event for fans of all ages.
