Fantastic Beasts: Five movies and new featurette

October 14, 2016.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is not anymore part of a trilogy. J.K. Rowling confirmed today in a Fan Event that there will be five movies – although we do not know if the title of all of them will be Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

A Fantastic Beasts Global Fan Event was held today, where the cast and director David Yates answered questions from the fans. The event was streamed online – and J.K. Rowling made an appearance too! There is where she said that she is planning four more movies for the Fantastic Beasts franchise – and that she is already finishing the second one. She also confirmed it later on Twitter:

The online stream was recorded and can be seen online here:

It included a new featurette, with new scenes, interviews with Jo and the cast. In this new preview, Grindelwald seems to be much more important in the story than we previously believed. Watch it here:

It looks very possible that we will see the partially known story of the Wizarding World (the First War, that finished with the famous duel between Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald) in these five movies. We already suspected due to the lasts revelations in posters and trailers, but it seems that is confirmed with today announces. As J.K. Rowlign says in the new video, “You’re learning a part of magical history that’s talked about in the Potter books that you never see. I’m getting a chance to tell that now.”
