Insight Editions will publish “The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy”, a companion book to the upcoming open-world action RPG based in the Wizarding World.
The book will be authored by Jody Revenson, who is the main author of the Wizarding World tie-in books, such as “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore Movie Magic” and “Harry Potter Paper Craft”, among others. The ISBN for this new book is 9781647226190 and the current publication date is September 6th, 2022.
Although it is not confirmed, this publication date could be related to the videogame release date, which is still unknown.
Update (February 9th):
Although the book is still on Google Books with the reported publication date of September, it has been added to Amazon as “Untitled Video Game Art Book” under the same ISBN. The publication date in the online bookshop is December 6th, 2022, however. This is normal in the publication world, where releases dates are not set in stone and can change, especially if we are months away from it. It is not possible to know, right now, which one will be the final release of the date book until it is confirmed by the publisher.
To clarify, the reason for this change (if it is real) is completely unknown and may or may not be related to the release date for the videogame. One reason could be that the original date of September was plain wrong, another one was that the September date was just a placeholder that was not supposed to become public (but it did).
The book also appears (with the new publication date) in Simon & Schuster, Barnes & Noble and IndieBound, among others.
